Elders - a discussion
At the moment, the elders are Drey, CroydonBoy, Kira, Jack and myself.
Up to now we have operated on a proposal / vote system and it hasn't been without problems. For instance, LeeJarvis1966 was quite persistent and when the vote went against him, he left. Fair enough I suppose but I wouldn't want to feel like we are alienating our clan mates if they're not Elder.
So I will ask the other clan members, is our system of promoting to Elder fair? Do we need Elders at all? Should we trust all these decisions to Drey the Ultimate Leader? What are your thoughts on it?

Elder is an honour and something to aspire to. As we learnt from my mistake there are people who like to infiltrate clans to make elder and then kick everyone out. Think people should have to earn promotion - need to show loyalty over more than a couple of days and have to donate lots of troops. Drey is the boss so has deciding vote but think all elders having to agree is to much as not all around at same time.

We could put up a poll on here and allow people to vote?

Have you thought of the black ball method, elders can nominate someone, the other elders vote yes or no.one no and it's a reject.of course the leader has the right to overrule if he thinks its needed.i know it sounds harsh but it's a tried method in a lot of society's

Good idea Dave! In the words of George Bush Jnr (the monkey-faced, monkey-brained one), "It would be great if this country were a dictatorship. As long as I'm the dictator".

Might be a good idea to give an idea of what criteria you look for, length of membership, amount of donations etc.of course then that opens up other probs, for example, would someone wait a month knowing after that month they can kick out members.im afraid some sad git prob would

Yeah, I thought about that as at the moment it seems quite arbitrary. Stefan was elder and then he left, quite reluctantly so we had a spare slot. We all had a good feeling about Kira who was donating and active in discussions so we voted her in. I think that's more the key than anything else. Also, do we have a limit on the number of elders? What limit would you put on a 50 member clan? Between 5 and 10 seems a reasonable amount with 10 perhaps right on the limit.
